Tems receives her first ever Grammy award plaque

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has finally received the plaque for her Grammy award.

 

DAILY GIST HUB recalls that Tems snagged the award for Best Melodica Rap Performance at the 65th Grammys on February 6, 2023.

 

Tems won the award for her contribution to Future’s ‘Wait For U’ which also featured Drake.

 

 

 

DAILY GIST HUB gathered that Her manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi shared the news of the arrival of the plaque via his Instastory on Friday.

 

He flaunted the Grammy award plaque on his Instastory without a caption.

 

According to previous records, Tems is the first female Nigerian artiste to win a Grammy.

Tems is also the first female Nigerian singer to be nominated for a Grammy award. She was nominated in the Best Global Performance category last year for her hit song with Wizkid ‘Essence’ but lost to Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab.
