SCN v CBN. Apex Court versus Apex Bank. When ram of justice locks horns with ram of impunity, we wait to see whose horns will be bent and broken. February 15th is here! We are all eagerly waiting. Nigeria is gradually turning to a theater of comedy on world’s scene.
The SCN is only supreme to the extent of its independence! I endorsed the first, but can’t vouch for the latter…When men stronger than strong institutions locks horns na the masses go suffer!
He that fetched an ant infested firewood has intentionally invited lizards to a feast. Ẹni tí ó gbé ìgi èlèrà tí mọ̀ọ́mọ̀ pe àwọn alangba wá ṣe àsè…
If the Supreme Court failed today, the Masses may result to self help. The Mass Protest may happen across the Federation but how can CBN denied people of their hard earned Money in the Name of Anti Masses Policy ❓ Is there still any Honor left for the Court? Today Nigerians expect not to see an Àkúdàáyà state of the Judiciary grand foolishness couched in weird theatrics. The Nigerian-American professor and newspaper columnist, Farooq Kperogi already wrote that, “justice in Nigeria is for highest bidder.”
The Ruling in the matter, a Supreme Court panel led by Justice John Okoro, on Wednesday, halted the Federal Government’s move to execute the February 10 deadline. The AGF, Abubakar Malami filed an objection against the Supreme Court ruling which halted the February 10 deadline for old Naira Notes to remain in circulation.
The FGN is aware of the abuse of power by many of these judges and as long as these Judges pronounced judgements in favor of the FGN nothing will happen to them. If the Judges attempts to go against the FGN, then we should expect power tussle… in recent time, the case of Justice Onnoghen, the Federal Government will open the cans of worms and relieved them off their duty one by one…
This has now given me the impression that Nigeria Judiciary System has lost her grace of honor… No matter how good a lawyer is, the judgement will not be determined by how well the lawyer can argue or prove his/her case. It’s up to the judge to determine which way to swing the judgement… Many of Nigeria Judges will always use the excuses technicalities to either throw out a case.
FGN, led by PMB can redeem his image by allowing INEC to conduct a clean election in 2023, and yet he PMB does not run on a level playing ground, he came into power democratically and this should be the order of his succession. This can happen by completely avoiding exerting any influence on the electoral process and preventing anyone in his party or outside it from doing so.
Of course, it’s a collision of an irredeemable loser with a sure winner–Justice will always put impunity to flight before God celestially no matter the outcome in the terrestrial realm.
