Police arrests 25 members of the Eiye confraternity in osun state

DAILY GIST HUB  gathered that the  Nigeria Police, Osun State Command has apprehended no fewer than  25 members of the Eiye confraternity in osun.

 

The cult group according to the Nigerian police has been terrorising residents of Ile-Ife area of  osun state.

 

Our correspondence  reports that they were arrested after they went on supremacy clash with other cult groups on Monday and vandalised properties and injured scores of people.

 

Some of the suspects denied being involved in cultism while others confirmed their membership in the Eiye Secret Confraternity.

 

The Osun Commissioner of Police, Patrick Kehinde Longe told journalists that the suspects arrested have been detained at the Police headquarters in Osogbo.

 

Speaking on his behalf, the Assistant Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Theophilus Adesokan Adekola said, “They have been detained at the Police headquarters and they will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations”.

 

Peace and orderliness had been restored in Ile-Ife. I advise residents to go about their lawful businesses with the assurance that the police would ensure their safety.”   DAILY GIST HUB gathered
