MAJLIS KHUDDAMUL AHMADIYYA NIGERIA (AHMADI MUSLIM YOUTH ORGANIZATION) ADVOCATES FOR PEACE
Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization) Advocate for Peace at its 8th Edition of Annual Ride for Peace Across 17 States in Nigeria.
In the spirit of promoting peace, national unity, and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians, the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization) organized its 8th edition of “Ride for Peace” exercise, across 17 states in Nigeria. The event marks a remarkable initiative by the youth to advocate for religious tolerance, national unity, and peaceful coexistence. The theme for 2023 edition is “Nigeria at 63: Need for Religious Tolerance and Peaceful Coexistence.”
The flag-off of the event was led by the National President of the Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization, Mr. Abdur Roqib Akinyemi with the Missionary in Charge Maulvi Adnan Tahir sahib who represented the National Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alh (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunsho Abdul Azeez, at the Ahmadiyya National Headquarters, Ojokoro, Ijaye, Lagos State.
The “Ride for Peace” has become an annual exercise for the Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization, symbolizing their commitment to cycling for exercising the body for physical and mental fitness, to promoting peace, and peaceful coexistence within the diverse fabric of Nigerian society.
This year’s theme reflects a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities present in Nigeria’s diverse landscape. The organization stressed the need for all Nigerians to understand that our strength is our diversity. It is our belief, that working across diverse cultures and different backgrounds, there can be a truly enriching experiences, allowing us to learn about perspectives and traditions of different people. The bonding over similarities and differences can help us as a people to become global citizens, abandoning prejudices or an ethnocentric view.
As the nation celebrates its 63rd Independence Day, the Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization recognize the urgent need to foster religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among its citizens. With activities spanning across 17 states, the youth are poised to make a widespread impact, engaging communities, and spreading the message of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
The presence of many important dignitaries who participated in the exercise at different locations had a significant touch to the event, emphasizing the importance of unity and tolerance in the country.
